EDGE Essential WiFi is a room temperature monitor and a humidity sensor in one. It reads the room air (temperature ±0.2 °C / ±0.36 °F, humidity ±3% RH), logs it every 1 to 30 minutes, and alerts everyone you share it with when the room crosses a limit you set.
Room temperature alarm
Set a high and a low temperature limit for the room: a server room that must stay cool, a storage room that must not freeze, an empty house in winter. Everyone on your list gets the alert by call, text, email and push.
Humidity alarm, high and low
Set humidity limits too. High humidity means condensation and a risk of mold in basements, storage rooms and closed-up cottages; low humidity dries out wood, paper and instruments. It measures humidity: it does not detect mold itself.

Will it alert me in a power outage?
It keeps logging every reading on its 4 AA batteries through an outage, and the readings upload when the WiFi is back. A WiFi unit can only alert while your router has power and internet (put the router on a UPS). For outage alerts, choose a Cellular model on USB-C power: it reports a power cut at its next recording, by push, email and text. For this model, that is EDGE Essential Cellular.
What do phone calls and texts cost?
Email and push alerts are free and unlimited. Texts and calls run on prepaid alert credit. Your device comes with about $3.70 of credit, enough for 250 texts or 100 calls. After that a text is about 1.5¢ and a call about 3.7¢ (a text and a call to 4 people: about 21¢), and you top up anytime from your profile. If the credit ever runs out, email and push alerts keep going.
How many people can get the alarm?
As many as you want: your partner, your staff, the neighbour (on WiFi, adding new people after the first year needs Premium; everyone already on the list stays). Everyone gets the call or text at once, the alerts repeat until the reading is back in range, and the log shows who acknowledged it.
