When the power drops, everyone on your list gets a power-outage alert by push, email and text (each person on the channels turned on in their own profile) at its next recording (within 10 minutes at the default 10-minute recording interval, about a minute if it records every minute), over its own cellular link, so a dead router can't stop it. The batteries take over and keep it logging and alarming through the outage. Running on batteries only? It still watches the temperature and calls you if it goes out of range.
How cold can it get?
EDGE Essential reads room air down to -20 °C (-4 °F). Set your low limit at, say, 5 °C (41 °F) and your phone rings the moment the heat quits, long before the cottage gets that cold, while there's still time to save the pipes.
